Application category: [1st open call for participants] Cover design of the stamp book

Author of this work: pote

Message to the work:

On the surface, "sushi", which is well-known as Japanese food overseas, is drawn with a brush to express Japaneseness.

The color is an indigo that evokes the image of indigo dyeing, a traditional technique from the Edo period, and the background is an image of Japanese paper.

On the back side, a cute depiction of Edo period townspeople eating sushi is drawn.
One point on both sides is a stamp style that is pressed in Ukiyo-e.

A goshuinjo filled with the culture of the Edo period when sushi began to become popular.
Overall, the design is easy to pick up for both men and women, and even for overseas people.

Comments from the EggnWorks judges:

Through sushi, the life of townspeople in the Edo period is conveyed.

It makes me think that sushi was at the cutting edge of fashion at the time.

Although the sushi illustrations are not colorful, each item is clearly recognizable.

It is finished in a work that shines with red as one point.
